Ultrasound has been a routine practice in prenatal care. Over 35 yrs of extensive studies have found it to cause no harm to mother or child. A 3d/4d scanning utilizes the same type of ultrasound as a 2d scan that you would have performed in your doctor’s office. Does this take place of an ultrasound at my doctor’s office? ABSOLUTLEY NOT! Before a 3d/4d ultrasound can be preformed you must be receiving prenatal care with a health care provider, also you must have already undergone a medical diagnostic ultrasound ordered by your physician. When is the best time to have a 3d/4d ultrasound? We would recommend having the examination performed at 26 to 32 weeks. However excellent images can be obtained anytime after 25 weeks. Do I need an appointment? Yes, appointments are necessary for all of are services. How long does the ultrasound last? Depending on the package you choose, the session will last between 15 to 30 minutes. Are you able to tell the sex? Yes, in most cases we can provide sex determination, when you are close to 20 weeks.  However we can not guarantee the baby will cooperate during your session. Can I bring family an friends?
